Last year, the NCAA announced the expansion from four to six regional sites, matching the same amount on the men’s side. A total of 72 teams and 36 individuals will compete overall as the five other hosts schools include – Florida Atlantic, Georgia, Indiana, NC State, UTSA, Washington State
TOURNAMENT HISTORY
The Gators have qualified for 29 of the 30 all-time women’s golf regionals as they were introduced in 1993 – the only year missed was 1999. Florida has made every regional since 2000 and each year under head coach Emily Glaser. The program has won three titles with the first in 2008 and back-to-back in 2016 and 2017, to tie for 10th all-time with Vanderbilt. Kelly Grassel claimed the program’s first individual regional title in 2017 at the Columbus Regional.
LAST TIME OUT
Florida wrapped up play at the SEC Championship and advanced to the quarterfinals for the second straight season. The Gators fell to the eventual SEC Champions, Texas A&M, 4-1 in match play. In stroke play, Marina Escobar finished T4 for her third top-25 outing at the conference tournament as Annabell Fuller placed T15.
ANOTHER MILESTONE
Maisie Filler added another achievement to her career as she was officially invited to the Augusta National Women’s Amateur (ANWA). She becomes the fifth Gator to recessive the honor as Florida has had a participant every year of the event.
