Illini Wrap Up First Round at NCAA San Antonio Regional

SAN ANTONIO – The Illinois women’s golf team opened the NCAA San Antonio Regional in 12th place, after carding a first round total of 317 (+29) heading into Saturday’s second round at TPC San Antonio.

Crystal Wang paced the Illini with 3-over, 75, to end the day tied for 23rd. Isabel Sy is tied for 41st after her opening round 78 (+6), picking up a team-high three birdies during the day.

Siyan Chen and Mattie Frick are tied for 59th after rounds of 82 (+10). Lexanne Halama is 65th after her first round 86 (+14).

Oklahoma State and Texas A&M share the team lead at 7-over (295) and UCLA’s Zoe Campos leads the field individually at 2-under (70).

Saturday’s second round begins with tee times at 8:00 a.m. CT. Halama will begin play for Illinois at 9:06 a.m. CT off of No. 10, with Frick, Chen, Sy and Wang to follow in 11-minute intervals.
