Badgers in 10th after first day of NCAA Regionals


BATH, Mich. — After the first round of play at the NCAA Regional tournament, Wisconsin men’s golf is in 10th place at even par. 

The Badgers are currently led by Cameron Huss and Max Schwarz who each shot a one-under par to tie for 30th.

No. 34 Georgia paces the field at 18-under after the first day while host Michigan State and No. 3 Illinois trail behind at 12-under. Nine out of the 13 teams in the Bath Regional find themselves ranked in the top-50 according to Golfstat. 

Monday, May 15

Round One

Wisconsin completed the first day of play with an even-par 284 to place in 10th. 

Huss and Schwarz led the way for the Badgers at one-under par. Huss enjoyed a team-leading six birdies, five of which were made on the back nine. Schwarz made the lone eagle for UW in addition to four birdies. 

Maxime Legros made par for his first 18 holes, while Clayton Tribus and Coalter Smith each shot a two-over 73.
