Lewis, Surratt Named PING All-Southeast Region

Coming off of seasons that earned them all-conference distinction, Tennessee men’s golfers Bryce Lewis and Caleb Surratt each added another postseason honor over the weekend—gaining PING All-Region honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Lewis and Surratt were all named All-Southeast Region, marking the fourth straight year in which Tennessee has landed multiple golfers on the all-region team. Earlier this month, Lewis and Surratt were also each named All-SEC—with Surratt earning first-team honors and SEC Freshman of the Year and Lewis being a second-team selection.

During his first season on Rocky Top, Surratt was a consistent force in Tennessee’s lineup. The true freshman posted a team-best stroke average of 69.58 over 33 rounds while carding a single-season program record 27 rounds of par or better.

In total during his freshman season, Surratt recorded seven top-10 finishes and two individual titles—including his individual title at the SEC Championship where he posted a 14-under 196, which tied for the second-lowest 54-hole score in SEC Championship history.

Lewis, who was named second-team All-SEC for the second straight season, placed inside the top-25 six times over the course of the season, including a second-place finish at the Mason Rudolph Championship in April and an individual title at the Purdue Fall Invitational in October.

The Hendersonville native carded 14 rounds in the 60s and posted a 70.58 scoring average—the fourth-best single-season stroke average in program history.
