DURHAM – Recent Duke women’s golf signee Emma McMyler will compete in the Women’s Southern Golf Association (WSGA) Amateur at the Golf Club of Houston – Tournament Course from June 5-8 in Houston, Texas.
The field will feature a maximum of 96 golfers that will play 18 holes of stroke-play qualifying on Monday. The top 32 golfers will advance to match play, which will kick off on Tuesday with the round of 32. Wednesday will have the round of 16 and quarterfinals with the semifinals and finals taking place on Thursday.
McMyler returns to her home state of Texas to compete in the tournament as she is a native of San Antonio.
She is coming off an impressive three-year stint with the Xavier women’s golf program. She earned BIG EAST Golfer of the Year accolades for a conference-record three straight seasons, while registering six wins, 19 career top-10 finishes and 24 top-20 placements. McMyler also helped lead Xavier to three straight BIG EAST Championships.
