Many fans are thinking the same thing this week: Scottie Scheffler or Brooks Koepka are winning.
And, to be honest, it’s tough to blame them.
Those two players, along with Jon Rahm, seem like the heavy favorites to win the 2023 U.S. Open at Los Angeles Country Club.
Rahm and Koepka are already major champions this season, as the Spaniard slipped on the green jacket in April while Koepka captured his third Wanamaker trophy last month at Oak Hill.
We’ve released several picks already this week, including our best bets and sleepers to keep an eye on.
However, our friends at For The Win believe one of these 10 players will hoist the hardware come Sunday in LA.
Let’s see: Dude’s won five majors, so you know he steps it up for the big ones. He won the 2023 PGA Championship just last month. So, yeah, if anyone should be among the favorites, it’s him.
He checks off a bunch of boxes: He’s won one of these. He’s won a major this year. Toss some of his recent results out the window. He’s always going to be on one of these lists until we see his week-to-week consistency go away.
Do I need to list a resume here? Didn’t think so.
Wouldn’t it be the best storyline to see him go scorched Earth on the field after what’s gone down in golf lately? It’s a good reason as any to pick him.
See that photo? That’s me trying to justify putting him on this list when a Bad Jordan Spieth day or two could doom him. But! Recent form shows a win is more than possible.
