2023 Meijer LPGA Classic

BELMONT, Mich. — As the heat and sunshine beat down on spectators at the Meijer LPGA Classic, J. Brewer’s/Frederik’s and Grand Taste concessions have a stellar lineup of drinks to quench spectators’ thirst.

But you have to find them.

J. Brewer’s/Frederik’s, an all-inclusive tent located north of the hole four fairway, is the featured eatery on the course. Admission comes at a heavy price: $85 per person, per day and $10 per child 5 or younger.

Concession stands are also stocked with a variety of beer and other beverages at Blythefield Country Club.

The tent is sold out Friday and Saturday, but tickets are still available for Sunday’s final round. From well-known draft beers to culturally curated food and drink, here are just a few of the fancy foods featured at the tent.

Reyna’s Michelada comes in two flavors, original and mango. Reyna’s mixes Michelada with either light beer or vodka. After it’s mixed together, it is topped off with Tajin seasoning around the rim of the glass to give the drink a hint of spice and if desired, mango.

Joining Reyna’s is Roche Onyx, a premium wine company with both red wine and white wine for guests. Using sweet and lightly carbonated red wine and Concord fruit flavors, the wines have a different taste and feel of a traditional red or white. Nicole Roche, creator of the company and the winemaker, says her love for hospitality is her inspiration.

Culturally diverse eats or cheap favorites

For the event, J. Brewer’s/Frederik’s is pairing a drink option with a food option. Chef Calvin Harris of Spiced Up was paired with Roche Onyx. The former MasterChef student’s pork tenderloin sandwich with an Asian spice, rice wine vinegar and sesame oil was one of many incredible options. Amazing Myanmar had three interesting Burmese dishes, including a two leaf salad.

For Saturday, the featured dishes are: Fried Cornbread and Jerk Chicken Kebab, Monsoon Crispy Spring Rolls with Plum Sauce and Veggie Tempura, Crispy Roll Shrimp Tempura and Pad Thai Noodle Salad.

For Sunday: Empanadas, Aloo Tiki and Masala Papad Mango Lassi and Spiced Up’s Pork Tenderloin Sliders.

With the J. Brewer’s/Frederik’s tickets sold out, spectators will have to settle for the Grand Taste Concessions tents located at holes 10, 16 and 18, however. While the food and drink here are not as…
