PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Virginia rising junior Megan Propeck will compete at the 2023 edition of the U.S. Women’s Open that gets underway Thursday at Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, Calif. The tournament will take place from July 6-9 with 156 golfers.
Propeck, a native of Leawood, Kan., competed in all 10 tournaments for UVA during the 2022-23 season. She helped the Cavaliers to a runner-up showing at the ACC Championships and a 24th-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
She had a pair of top-20 finishes during the season, including a 13th-place showing at the Stanford Intercollegiate where she was the team’s top finisher. She posted her best round of the season (-4, 68) at the NCAA Regional site.
Propeck qualified for her first U.S. Open after winning the qualifier at Broadlands Golf Course in Broomfield, Colo. She shot -4, 140 at that event.
She will tee off during the opening round at 2:57 p.m. PDT while playing with BYU’s Allysha Mae Mateo and Jing Yan who competed at Washington. That same group will start their second round at 9:12 a.m. PDT on Friday.
The U.S. Open broadcast schedule for Thursday and Friday is on Peacock from 4-6 p.m. and USA from 6-11 p.m.). Saturday and Sunday coverage is on NBC from 3-9 p.m.
