CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. –Washington State women’s golf fifth-year senior Darcy Habgood was recognized for her academic excellence by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Thursday, July 6, as Habgood was named a WGCA All-American Scholar.
It is the second-straight WGCA All-American Scholar selection for Habgood. She recently graduated from Washington State with a bachelor’s degree in advertising holding a GPA of 3.67. She also earned a WGCA All-American Scholar distinction during the 2021-22 season and was named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors earlier this season.
Habgood put together one of the more impressive individual seasons in program history this year, as the Nambucca Heads, Australia native became just the fifth WSU women’s golfer to earn an individual selection for an NCAA Regional. She competed at the 2023 NCAA Pullman Regional at Palouse Ridge, where she carded 4-under 212 to finish in a tie for 21st. The fifth-year senior also earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention honors in 2022-23 after leading the Cougars in scoring average at 73.97 strokes per round.
