USC teams put forth a powerful showing across 2022-23, highlighted by a 2023 NCAA Championship won by beach volleyball along with five other teams claiming conference titles. Thirteen USC teams finished their seasons ranked in the nation’s top-25, and the Trojans claimed the Crosstown Cup — its yearlong competition with rival UCLA — for the 13th time. See below for a review of USC Athletics’ 2022-23 campaign and sport-by-sport achievements:
• Beach volleyball captured USC’s 135th national championship and the 36th team title won by a USC women’s team. In all, USC has now won 113 total NCAA team championships (27 NCAA titles by USC women’s teams).
• Three Trojan teams finished as NCAA runners-up (men’s water polo, women’s water polo, women’s golf)
• Lacrosse, men’s tennis and women’s water polo all finished first in their conference regular-season standings.
• Men’s water polo, men’s tennis, women’s golf and lacrosse all won conference tournament titles.
• 17 Trojans won Pac-12 individual titles
• 15 Trojans were named conference Players of the Year
• Caleb Williams won the Heisman Trophy
• Three Trojans — Nick Figueroa (football), Kaitlyn Dobler (swimming) and Lina Sculti (diving) — earned CSC Academic All-America First Team honors
• 164 Trojans were named to a Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll
• USC finished fourth in the Directors Cup
• In the Capital One Cup, USC women finished tied at 12th, and the USC men finished tied at 45th
• USC won the Crosstown Cup for the 13th time in 21 years of competition, beating UCLA 105-85
• Lenny Krayzelberg was honored with the NCAA Silver Anniversary Award
• Two Trojans — Okako Adika and Kadi Sissoko — were selected in the WNBA Draft (14 total USC women’s basketball players have now been picked in a WNBA Draft
• Johnny Olmstead was selected in the MLB Draft
• Penelope Hocking was selected in the NWSL Draft
• Four Trojans — Jordan Addison, Tuli Tuipulotu, Mekhi Blackmon and Andrew Vorhees — were selected in the NFL Draft
