OMAHA – Former Gator Alejandro Tosti won his first Korn Ferry Tour event and secured his PGA Tour card at the Pinnacle Bank Championship on Sunday.

A four-year letterman (2015-18) for Florida, he accumulated enough points to ensure a stop in the Top-30 Korn Ferry Tour Points List at season’s end thus earning PGA Tour membership for 2024. He is the second straight Gator to achieve the mark as Tyson Alexander earned his last year.

Tosti used a bogey-free final round of 62 (-9) to jump seven spots and win by three strokes, which tied the 18-hole tournament record at The Club at Indian Creek and was four strokes lower than the next-best score posted Sunday.

“I still think I’m dreaming,” Tosti said. “It’s been an amazing day. When I saw it was blowing a little harder this morning, I was very happy because I love playing in the wind, and it showed today. I had a great start and finished up even better.

“The best golf in the world is played in the United States,” Tosti continued. “I had a couple chances to play on the PGA TOUR this year and I did good, but in Colorado I was leading going into the last round and I wasn’t able to close it out. It was not the time a couple weeks ago. But it all fell in place. It was a matter of time.”

His 72-hole total of 19-under 265 marked the second-lowest winning score in tournament history, only trailing the record by two strokes. The victory was Tosti’s KFT-leading ninth top-10 of the season and has made 16-of-19 cuts this year.

After turning professional in 2018, he played on PGA Tour Latinoamérica and totaled 41 career starts as his second win last season earned him Korn Ferry Tour membership this season.

At Florida, Tosti was a two-time All-American and the 2017 SEC Individual Champion. He won three collegiate events and joined the program as a spring enrollee during head coach J.C. Deacon‘s first season in 2014-15. Tosti made an immediate impact being selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team and the second-best stroke average.
