Women's Golf Announces Fall 2023 Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. –  Rutgers women’s golf program has announced its schedule for the upcoming fall 2023 season. The Scarlet Knights are set for competition in five events, ranging as far west as California and and as east as Delaware.

Head coach Kari Williams and the team had a historic 2022-23 season and look to keep the momentum rolling in the new campaign. RU is coming off a season that saw the program win the team title at the Rocket Classic, post the third-lowest scoring average in team history (300.10), the lowest 54-hole total in team history at the Westbrook Invitational (3-under 861) and set program records with 293 birdies and a 4.2806 scoring average on par fours.

Individually, Leigha Devine (Badger Invitational) and Rikke Nordvik (Rocket Classic) each won individual titles. Devine’s score at the Badger Invitational also set an event record. Devine set single-season records for scoring average (+1.67), birdies (86), par-5 scoring (4.9083). She also set the RU record for career rounds of par or better with 18.

With sights set on the new campaign, Rutgers will open things up at the Boilermaker Classic from Sept. 4-5, hosted by Purdue in West Lafayette, Ind.  The Scarlet Knights will once again return to the Badger Invitational from Sept. 17-19 in Madison, Wis. as Leigha Devine looks to defend her individual title from last fall. The team then heads west for the Molly Collegiate Invitational from Sept. 25-26 at Bayonet Golf Course in Seaside, Calif., with Oregon State and Cal sharing host duties. The fourth event of the season is the Marilyn Smith Sunflower Invitational, hosted by Kansas State from Oct. 2-3 in Manhattan, Kan. at Colbert Hills Golf Course. After a brief layoff, RU will wrap up the fall campaign at the Lady Blue Hen Invitation, hosted by Delaware from Oct. 21-22 at Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Del.

The program features a blend of proven veterans and eager newcomers. Three Scarlet Knights return from last year’s team in Leigha Devine, Rikke Nordvik and Lucrezia Rossettin. They are joined by a strong crop of newcomers in Catharina Graf, Emily James, Krystal Li and Lorena Rossettin.
