Noh One Stroke Shy Of Program Record

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – In its first action of the 2023-24 season, the California women’s golf team recorded its best round in the last 15 years, carding a 9-under (279) in round two to move up to fifth place heading into the final day of the Dick McGuire Invitational at UNM Championship Golf Course.

Despite a slow. rain-affected start, the Golden Bears quickly rebounded with four golfers shooting par or better in round two and three ending the day in the top 20 individually. Junior Kaylyn Noh (+1, 145) led the way with a 5-under 67 in round two – one stroke shy of the 18-hole individual program record – picking up seven birdies to move up 51 spots on the leaderboard over the last 18 holes.

Noh will head into Tuesday’s final round in a tie for 20th place with teammates Adora Liu and Rina Tatematsu. Liu also went sub-70 for the first time in a Cal uniform, shooting 3-under 69 in round two with birdies on holes three, six, nine, 13 and 16. Tatematsu was consistent in her Bear debut, carding a 1-over 73 in round one and an even-72 in the second round.

Also seeing her first action for the Bears was freshman Constance Fouillet (+3, 147), who rounded out Cal’s scorers in round two with a 1-under 71.
