Rossettin's Strong Play Highlights Badger Invitational Finish


FITCHBURG, Wis. –  Rutgers women’s golf improved its score for the second straight day and moved up the leaderboard to take home 11th place at the Badger Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.

After sitting in a tie for 14th after each of the first two rounds, the Scarlet Knights shot a 295 to move up three spots in their second event of the season.  

Leigha Devine finished in a tie for 32nd place to lead RU, while true freshman Lorena Rossettin fired a 2-under 70 in her final round to shoot up the boards and finish in a tie for 37th.

Devine was able to bounce back after a triple-bogey on her first hole of the day. She parred her next five holes, birdied No. 2 and finished her round with eight straight pars to finish the day with a 5-over 77 and the tournament with a 7-over 223 (74-72-77).

Lorena Rossettin was tied for 70th going into the final round of play. She started her round with five consecutive pars, birdied No. 3 and No. 6 and then birdied three of her final five holes to card a 2-under 70. She finished the tournament tied for 37th with a 9-over 225 (76-79-70).

Cathi Graf also saved her best round for last, shooting a 1-under 73 on Tuesday. Graf birdied No. 16 and No. 9 and rolled in 13 pars to cap off the tournament in a tie for 46th place with an 11-over (78-76-73).
