Jack Lundin Named SEC Golfer of the Week

After helping the Missouri men’s golf program to its first title of the 2023-24 season, senior Jack Lundin was named SEC Men’s Golfer of the Week, announced on Wednesday.

Lundin led the Tigers with an 11-under performance at the Chicago Highlands Invitational. During the three-round tournament, the senior carded two eagles and 12 birdies against just five bogeys as he placed second overall – his second top-five finish in three tournaments this season.

A native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Lundin keyed a late rally as the Tigers lifted their first trophy of the season. Trailing No. 13 Virginia by three strokes and No. 25 Wake Forest by two strokes going into the last hole, Lundin’s eagle on No. 18 led a late charge as the Tigers pulled even with the Demon Deacons and passed the Cavaliers for the crown. Overall, Lundin was three-under over the final two holes to lead the MU rally.

Through three tournaments and nine rounds, Lundin leads Mizzou with a 68.89 stroke average in 2023-24 – nearly two strokes better than the second-ranked golfer on the team. He has finished under-par in eight of nine rounds this season, leading the Tigers in scoring twice.

The weekly accolade is the first for Lundin during his career.

Lundin and Mizzou look to continue their strong start to the season, competing at the SEC Fall Preview in Birmingham, Alabama, Monday through Wednesday.
