Georgia Rallies Past Men’s Golf, 3-2

The Missouri men’s golf team wrapped up play at the SEC Fall Preview on Wednesday with Georgia rallying to win the schools’ match play contest, 3-2.

The Tiger grabbed the early lead in the match with a 6 & 5 win from Charlie Crockett and a 3 & 2 victory from Alfons Bondesson. Georgia pulled one back when Caleb Manuel earned a 3 & 2 victory over Virgilio Paz with the final two matches going down to the wire.

Mizzou, however, was unable to find the one point to secure victory. Carter Loflin won the 18th hole to force a tie against Dagbjartur Sigurbrandsson before winning in 19 holes. Buck Brumlow then secured the win on the 18th hole against Jack Lundin for the 3-2 final score.

The Tigers return to action on Monday, Oct. 9, competing at The Williams Cup in Wilmington, North Carolina.
