PULLMAN, Wash. (Oct. 1, 2023) – After a week off from competition, the Washington State men’s golf team resumes its 2023 fall schedule at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, Oct. 2-3 in Erie, Colo.
The Course and Tournament Format
The 2023 Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational will be held at Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colo. The course will play as a par-72 at 7,567 yards.
Teams will play 36 holes on Monday, Oct. 2 followed by a final 18 holes Tuesday.

Last Time Out
Washington State sophomore Sam Renner shot a 5-under, 67, in the final round, his second 67 of the 54-hole event, to lead WSU to a sixth-place finish at the Husky Invitational, Sept. 18-19. WSU ended the three-round event with a 9-under, 279, team score on the final day, it’s best round of the tournament. Renner finished his three rounds at 3-under, 213, tied for 11th overall.

Head Coach Dustin White begins his eighth season leading his alma mater. The 2023-24 Cougar squad, which returns nine members from last season, looks to build of the 2023 campaign which saw WSU post its best showing at a Pac-12 Championship, finishing in a tie for third. The Cougars also made a return to postseason play competing in the 2023 National Golf Invitational Championship, only the second time in program history that WSU has played in a postseason tournament, and first since the 2002 NCAA West Regional. The Cougars finished in a tie for sixth at the NGI.
