PULLMAN, Wash. (Oct. 21, 2023) – The Washington State women’s golf team concludes its Fall season schedule when it heads to the Lone Star State for the Jim West Challenge, Oct. 22-23, hosted by Texas State University.
The Course and Tournament Format
The 2023 Jim West Challenge will be held at Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos, Texas. The course will play as a par-72 at 6,132 yards.
Teams will play 36 holes Sunday, Oct. 22, concluding with 18 holes Monday. Oct. 23.

The Field
In addition to Washington State and host Texas State, the field includes Cal Poly, Houston, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech, Texas-San Antonio, Tulane and UNLV.

Last Time Out
WSU competed in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Denver, Oct 6-8. The Cougars finished T-11th, moving up one spot over the final day. Individually, junior Madelyn Gamble’s continued her solid play this fall with an even-par 72 on the final day, giving her a three-round total of 4-under, 212, tied for 13th overall.
WSU Golf
Head Coach Sofie Aagaard is in her second season leading the Cougars. The 2023-24 Cougar squad returns four members from the 2022-23 squad, including junior Madelyn Gamble, who ended last season with a third-place finish at the 2023 Pac-12 Golf Championships.
