Aggies Finish Third, Rodrigues Places Fourth at Furman Intercollegiate – Texas A&M Athletics

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Texas A&M men’s golf senior Daniel Rodrigues finished in fourth place at the Furman Intercollegiate to lead the Aggies to a third-place showing at the event.
 
Rodrigues posted a 2-over 73 for Monday’s final round to register a three-round tally of 5-under 208. He finished behind a trio of Chattanooga players, including medalist Paul Conroy who shot 8-under 205.
 
Vishnu Sadagopan tied for 12^th place at 1-under 212 following Monday’s 2-over 73.
 
Phichaksn Maichon posted the field’s only final-round sub-70 score. His 4-under 67 moved him up 31 spots on the leaderboard Monday, finishing tied for 16^th along with teammate Michael Heidelbaugh at even 213 for the three circuits.
 
The Aggies registered a team score of 10-under 842 and were bested only by host Furman (-20) and Chattanooga (-19) in the 15-team field.
 
In his collegiate debut, redshirt freshman Joe Stover tied for 24^th place at 2-over-215. He moved up 12 spots on the final day with his round of 71.
 

The Maroon & White contingent was rounded out by a pair of true freshmen. Jack Usner tied for 32^nd at 4-over 217 and Aaron Pounds was one stroke back in 38^th place.
 

Texas A&M was playing without the services of Jaime Montojo, who ranks second on the team with a 70.83 stroke average. Montojo is returning from Spain after making his DP World Tour debut over the weekend.
 

The tournament closed the book on the fall season. Texas A&M returns to action January 29-30 when the Aggies head to Tucson for the National Invitational Tournament at Omni Tucson National Resort.
