WILMINGTON, N.C. – Four Tennessee golfers shot par or better on Saturday as the team ended day two of the Landfall Tradition at 7-under and in 2nd place with one round remaining on Sunday.
Saturday’s team score of 9-under (279) was the best of the day from any school, and it ties for the sixth-lowest round score in program history, The last time Tennessee shot 279 in a round was at the Westbrook Invitational in February 2020.
The Lady Vols are one of two teams to feature four golfers in the top 26 heading into the final round at the Country Club at Landfall. Senior Vanessa Gilly led the way for the Lady Vols with a mark of 5-under par (67), placing her tied for 10th headed into the final day. Joining her tied for tenth is sophomore Manassanan Chotikabhukkana who finished 1-under (71) during Saturday’s action.
Freshman Martina Lopez-Lanchares finished with a 18-hole score of 3-under (69), tying her lowest round as a Lady Vol and placing her tied for 14th heading into Sunday’s action. Senior Kayla Holden carded an even-par round (72) and sits tied for 23rd. Angela Arora shot 7-over (79) and is tied for 75th place.
Sunday’s third round will begin at 8:45 a.m. ET with a shotgun start.
