Arcis Golf acquired Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia in October. The club is Arcis’ first property in Georgia and represents its expansion into 14 states across the country. The acquisition is its 14th in less than two years and brings its portfolio to almost 70 courses.
Champions Retreat is a 27-hole private club and is well known for featuring course designs from three of golf’s most revered masters: Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player. Each of them designed a nine-hole set of signature holes, named Bluff, Island and Creek, respectively. It is the only property in the world to feature a design from each of the so-called Big Three.
The club features four- to eight-bedroom cottages with included chef’s kitchens. Other amenities include the Grille House restaurant; Bluff Overlook, a gathering spot with expansive views; The Barn, a 10,000-square-foot venue for events such as weddings, parties or business gatherings; and more.
Champions Retreat also hosts the first two rounds of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur every year in late March and early April, which the club has done since the event began in 2019. The final round of the tournament is played at Augusta National Golf Club.
“The exceptional facility, courses, and amenities add a new dimension to our differentiated collection of private, daily fee, and resort properties. We are uniquely positioned to offer best-in-class golf and innovative programming and content that appeal to the entire family,” said Blake Walker, Founder and CEO of Arcis Golf. “Champions Retreat directly aligns with our strategy of owning and operating preeminent properties and our unwavering commitment to grow the game of golf and transformational lifestyle experiences.”
