Ending Fall with a W: Men's Golf Wins Cypress Point Match Play Title

The Arizona State men’s golf team has been incredibly consistent over the course of its past 10 events. In its final event of the fall, it closed out a match play title over Texas at Cypress Point Club in the Cypress Point Classic in Pebble Beach, CA.

Both teams won three singles matches on Wednesday, but ASU earned the title by virtue of a tiebreaker based on most holes won. ASU — playing without Preston Summerhays who is competing in a PGA event — got strong wins from Ryggs Johnston, Nicholas Prieto and Luke Potter on Tuesday. The Sun Devils defeated Stanford (2-1) and Tennessee (2.5-0.5) on Monday to make the final.
