SANTIAGO, Chile – UCLA women’s golf alumna Mariajo Uribe (2007-2009) won a silver medal representing Team Colombia at the 2023 Pan American Championships at Prince of Wales Golf Club in Santiago, Chile on Sunday.
Uribe shot a score of 10-under 278 with round totals of 69-73-68-68 to finish four strokes behind gold medalist Sofia Garcia of Paraguay.
This marks Uribe’s third medal at the Pan American Games, including her double gold showing at the 2015 event in which she won the women’s and mixed events at Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ontario. That year marked the inaugural golf event at the Pan American Games.
Winning the bronze this year was Alena Sharp of Canada (-7, 281).
In her three-year UCLA career, Uribe was a two-time WGCA First Team All-American in her sophomore and junior seasons and won three medals, including two at NCAA Regionals.
