Alina Ho signs with Hokies


BLACKSBURG — Virginia Tech women’s golf head coach Carol Robertson announced Wednesday the signing of Alina Ho to a national letter of intent. Ho, the top-ranked senior in Virginia, will join the Hokies next summer.

High School: Four-year letterwinner at Langley … Team captain … Captured the VHSL Class 6 state championship in 2022, firing a 67 to become the first female from Langley to win the co-ed state title … Helped Langley win both district and region titles from 2021-23 … Shot the lowest round of her high school career (66) in the district championship … Earned the VHSL Award of Excellence three times for advancing to the state championship … Three-time all-state honoree … Key member of Langley’s seven straight state titles … Chose Tech over Tulane, James Madison, Delaware, Rutgers and Iowa.

Junior/Amateur: Top-ranked recruit in Virginia in the class of 2024 … Ranked 35th overall in the class of 2024 by AJGA … Led Virginia to a win in the Poindexter Cup, which pits Virginia vs. Maryand junior golfers … Invited to the Mid-Atlantic Girls’ Challenge featuring Virginia/Maryland vs. North Carolina/South Carolina … Named MAPGA Player of the Year in 2021 … Second-place showing at the 54th VSGA Junior Girls’ Championship at Orchard Creek Country Club … Fourth-place finish at the Junior Orlando International Amateur at Mission Inn Resort … Two runner-up performances on the Peggy Kirk Bell Tour … Posted a 72.72 scoring average during 18 rounds in AJGA events in 2023.

Personal: Alina Ho … Born in Reston, Virginia … Daughter of Kuan and Linda Ho … Has one younger sibling, Kevin, who competes for Langley’s rowing team … Plans to major in business … After graduation, she would like to coach golf or be a director of operations at a golf course.
