LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – Following 54 holes of action at the Patriot All-America, Duke women’s golf standouts Emma McMyler and Katie Li turned in a tied for seventh and tied for 15th finish, respectively, at the Wigwam Golf Resort in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
McMyler, a graduate student out of San Antonio, Texas, carded three straight rounds of 69 en route to posting a tied for seventh finish with a 3-under, 207. She posted 11 birdies over three days, including four in the final round.
A freshman from Basking Ridge, N.J., Li turned in scores of 70, 70 and 69 on her way to posting a 1-under, 209. She also registered 11 birdies with four coming in the final round.
Blue Devil sophomore Andie Smith turned it on in the final round to card a 2-under, 68, to finish tied for 44th. She opened the day with a 4-under-par, 31, over the opening nine holes and finished with six birdies for the day. Smith, a product of Hobe Sound, Fla., collected 14 birdies over the three days.
Tillie Claggett shot a 9-under, 61, in the final round to claim the title with a 12-under, 198.
Duke incoming freshman Martina Yu also placed 24th at the Citrus Golf Trail Ladies Invitational with rounds of 73, 77, 74 and 77 for a 301.
Li along with junior Rylie Heflin and Yu will next compete in the Orlando Women’s Amateur Jan. 4-6.
