CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Four former Illini are in action across the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour, highlighting a busy week from California to the UAE for the Orange and Blue.
PGA TOUR
Thomas Detry, Adrien Dumont de Chassart, and Nick Hardy are all set to compete at Torrey Pines this week for the PGA TOUR’s Farmers Insurance Open.
Detry and fellow Belgian Dumont de Chassart are both in action again after teeing off at The American Express last week in La Quinta, Calif.
Hardy tees off for the third time in 2024 and is looking to advance to the weekend again after making the cut in his first two events of the year to finish tied for 47th at The Sentry before grabbing a tie for 42nd two weeks ago at the Sony Open in Hawai’i.
The Farmers Insurance Open is the third straight event for the rookie Dumont de Chassart, who how calls Jacksonville, Fla., home and was recently featured on PGATour.com exploring his new locale.
DP WORLD TOUR
Another proud member of Illinois golf’s Belgium-to-Champaign tradition, Matthis Besard, tees off this week in the United Arab Emirates for the DP World Tour’s Ras Al Khaimah Championship at Al Hamra Golf Course.
Besard, who advanced through DP World Tour Qualifying School in November, will make his fourth start and his first since mid-December. He is in search of his second made cut following a T48 finish at the Alfred Dunhill Championship last month in South Africa.
