CBRE’s Golf & Resort group, long led by Jeff Woolson, has expanded the team with the addition of three new members: Billy Knight, Brandon Schempp and Jeff Rice. Senior Graphic Designer Daphne Hagan rounds out the team.
The Golf & Resort group specializes in real estate services for golf courses, marinas and ski resorts and is responsible for more than $2.8 billion in transactions. Woolson was recently promoted to vice chairman at CBRE, which is the highest title designation at the company.
“As the leading real estate advisor in the leisure industry, we collaborate with professionals in CBRE’s hotels and land practice to remain at the forefront of the market, maintain active investor connections, and close high-end transactions more effectively than any other firm,” Woolson said.
2023 was the group’s most successful year, which saw them advise on the sale of seven golf and resort properties totaling over $282 million, including Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona; Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Orange County, California; and The Grove in Nashville, Tennessee.
Knight’s position will be vice president and he brings more than 10 years of experience in corporate development for Invited, as well as more than $600 million in golf and country club transactions.
Schempp will be first vice president and has 15 years of sales management experience, most recently serving as the North American head of commerce, content, and data insight sales for DEPT, a tech and marketing company based in the Netherlands.
Rice previously worked at CBRE and returns as an investment sales analyst after spending eight years at Integra Realty Resources, during which time he generated more than $1.51 million in revenue.
