The University of Iowa women’s golf team will open its spring season in Boca Raton, Florida, at the FAU Paradise Invitational. The 54-hole tournament will be held from Feb. 5-6 at Osprey Point Golf Course’s Raven & Falcon course (par 72, 6,204 yards). Action begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. (CT).

THE LINEUP
The Hawkeyes’ lineup includes: sophomore Madison Dabagia, sophomore Kaitlyn Hanna, junior Paula Miranda, sophomore Shannyn Vogler and sophomore Riley Lewis.
THE FIELD
The 12-team field competing in the Sunshine State includes: Denver (53), East Carolina (87), Florida Atlantic (135), Florida International (139), Indiana (69), Iowa (92), Notre Dame (73), Rutgers (113), South Florida (33), UTSA (55), Vanderbilt (21) and Wisconsin (75). THE COURSE
Osprey Point Golf Course is one of the top public golf courses in Florida and has received numerous awards from various organizations, including Golf Range Association of America and Golf Digest since opening in 2010. This 6,204-yard, par-72 course is home to three nine-hole courses and an award-winning practice facility. Each hole has wide fairways and well-manicured visible greens.
A REVIEW: 2023 FALL SEASON
The Hawkeyes tallied a runner-up finish at the Red Raider Invitational on Sept. 25-26, finishing with a 54-hole total of 876. It is tied for the fifth-lowest 54-hole score in Iowa history. Iowa rounded out the fall by tying for seventh at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Hawai’i. The final round 285 was tied for the fourth lowest in the record books.
OF NOTE…
• Two Hawkeyes – sophomores Madison Dabagia and Kaitlyn Hanna – had scoring averages in the 73s during three fall tournaments. Dabagia led the team with a 73.56 average, while Hanna had a 73.89.
• The team had four different players notch top 20 finishes during the fall season, including Hanna’s tie for 12th place at the Red Raider Invitational with a 219. The finish and 54-hole score were career bests.
• Iowa had six sub-par rounds and a total of 13 rounds at or below par during the fall season. Dabagia had a team-best four such rounds, including two rounds of 70 (-2), which matched her career low.
• Dabagia and junior Paula Miranda had eight of their nine rounds count during the three fall tournaments.
