Men Sit in 12th After Day Two at John Burns Intercollegiate


LIHUE, Hawaii (February, 16, 2024) – Washington State men’s golf finished day two of the 2024 John Burns Intercollegiate in 12th place Friday afternoon at the par-72, 7,156-yard Ocean Course at Hokuala.

The team finished round two with a 16-over, 304 showing to sit 6-over, 582 with the final round on Saturday.

Preston Bebich paced the squad in round two with a 1-over, 73 behind three birdies on the front nine. He is now tied for 12th at 3-under, 141.

Ben Borgida birdied four holes on his way to a 3-over, 75, performance in round two. Borgida ends the second day of competition tied for 96th at 10-over, 154.

Pono Yanagi scattered three birdies to finish 5-over, 77, and now sits tied for 20th with a two-day total of 1-under, 143. Sam Renner is tied for 82nd at 7-over, 151 after a 7-over, 79 performance in round two.

Drayton Joseph finished the second round at 16-over, 88, and is tied for 116th with a two-round score of 16-over, 160.

The final round of the 2024 John Burns Intercollegiate is on Saturday. WSU is scheduled to tee off at 10:30 a.m. PT.
