Cougars in Ninth After Day One of Pac-12 Preview


KAILUA KONA, Hawaii (February 19, 2024) – Washington State women’s golf sits in ninth place through the first 18 holes of the Pac-12 Preview after shooting an 8-over, 300 on the par-73, 6,449-yard Nanea Golf Club.

Individually, junior Madelyn Gamble led the women with a 1-under, 72, scattering five birdies on the day. Freshman Alice Johansson also had a strong day with an eagle on hole four to help finish at 2-over, 75.

Junior Emily Cadwell had a tough time on hole nine, but made up for it with a team-high six birdies on the day to finish at 3-over, 76.

Junior Sarah Skovgaard-Bils parred seven holes on the back nine, and a pair of birdies on the front nine helped her to a 4-over, 77 performance on day one. Sophomore Hannah Harrison birdied hole two on her way to a 6-over, 79 round.

The Cougars continue at the Pac-12 Preview tomorrow with round two teeing off at 9:30 a.m. PT.
