Cal Posts 6th-Best Score Out Of 12 Teams
KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii – The No. 19 California women’s golf team moved up in the Pac-12 Preview standings Tuesday after posting the sixth-best score out of the 12 teams competing at Nanea Golf Club.
The Golden Bears improved two strokes on their first-round score, carding an 8-over-par 300 to move into ninth place. They will head into Wednesday’s final round two shots behind eighth-place Colorado.
Freshman Constance Fouillet (71-74 – 145) remained under par for the tournament, carding a 1-over 74 in round two. She moved into a tie for 10th-place individually to lead the Bears
Making the biggest jump on the individual leaderboard was sophomore Olivia Lee (78-74 – 152), who led her team with four birdies on the day. Lee picked up back-to-back birdies early on and added another on her final hole to move up a total of 11 spots into 36th place.
Junior Kaylyn Noh had a five-stroke improvement from day one, shooting 2-over 75. She is now tied with teammate Anna Molloy in 46th place at 9-over 155.
Cal closes out the final 18 holes of its second spring competition Wednesday starting at 9:30 a.m. PT.
