PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – The No. 10 Virginia men’s golf team shot a second-round score of 10-under 278 to move up to third place after 36 holes at the Watersound Invitational at Shark’s Tooth Golf Course. The Cavaliers two-day total stands at 12-under 564, one shot behind Clemson and eight strokes back of tournament-leading Vanderbilt.
All-American Ben James led UVA with a 4-under 68 to move up to ninth place overall at 4-under 140. George Duangmanee and Deven Patel both shot 1-under 71 and are tied for 16th position at 3-under 141. Josh Duangmanee also posted a round of 68 and moved up to 24th place at 1-under 143. That matched the first-year player’s lowest round as a Cavalier.
Bryan Lee shot even par 72 and is in 40th position at 2-over 146. Chris Fosdick, competing as an individual, is in 54th place at 149. He posted a second-round score of 149.
The three tournament leaders – Vanderbilt, Clemson and Virginia – will tee off starting at 8:50 a.m. from the first tee during Wednesday’s final round.
