TOURNAMENT HISTORY

The Gators are set to make their 21st appearance all-time in the tournament as they won in their debut in the fall of 1992. Florida claimed the title again in 2018 and won by four strokes to finish 5-under. Last year, Yuxin Lin won his first collegiate tournament at the event with a 54-hole score of 203 (-13).

For the fourth time, the individual champion will receive an exemption into the Shriners Children’s Open, which will take place Oct. 12-15, 2023, at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas

COMPETING TEAMS (Top-25)

No. 1 North Carolina, No. 2 Auburn, No. 4 Arizona State, No. 15 Oklahoma, No. 16 Florida, No. 17 New Mexico, No. 20 Illinois, No. 22 Texas, Georgia, Missouri, Pepperdine, San Diego State, TCU and Texas A&M.

LAST TIME OUT

Florida showed its depth in depth for its fifth consecutive victory at the Gators Invitational last weekend. The Gators had two teams competing and finished 1-2 back-to-back years with Florida A winning with a 54-hole score of 814 (-26) and Florida B just three shots back. Last year it was a 14-shot difference between Florida’s teams. By rule the B Team does not count as a team finish therefore North Florida finishes in second, 13 shots behind.

The Gators has now won their home tournament 30 times in its 47 years history. The 26-under performance is the fourth lowest by par in Gators Invitational history and tied 10th all-time in program history, which was last shot for Florida’s national championship title in 2001.

Nine golfers finished in the top-21 led by Ian Gilligan’s third place outing. He has started the spring season with a runner-up and third-place finish.
