Women’s Golf Wraps Up at Westbrook


The Missouri women’s golf team wrapped up play at the Westbrook Invitational in Arizona, placing 10th of 14 schools.

After a historic second round, sophomore Melanie Walker led Mizzou overall for the fourth-straight tournament, carding an eight-under 208 over 54 holes (70-66-72) to place 14th overall. Walker’s final scorecard is tied for the eighth-best tournament score in Mizzou record books. This also marks the second tournament in a row Walker has finished in the top-15.

Finishing even in the final round, Winnie Ng fired her career-best tournament with a five-under 211 over 54 holes (68-71-72). Ffion Tynan rallied back on the last day leading the team with five birdies to finish even on the day.

Missouri placed 10th after three rounds with a final score of 848. Kansas finished first followed by Oklahoma and Wisconsin respectively.

The Tigers return to action on Sunday, March 10, competing at the Tulane Classic in New Orleans, Louisiana.
