Men's Golf Finishes Seventh at the Invitational at the Ford


RICHMOND HILL, Ga. – Rutgers men’s golf ended their second week of play in seventh place at the Inaugural Invitational at the Ford hosted by Georgia Southern.

Xavier Marcoux and Rhett Sellers both finished strong shooting 5-under on Tuesday. Their score of 67 is tied for the fifth best round in the event.

Marcoux shot 210 (-6) over the two-day tournament finishing in an eighth-place tie. This is his third straight top-ten finish dating back to the fall season.

Freshman Derek Gutierrez who entered individually had his best event as a Scarlet Knight. He tied for 25th shooting just 1-over across the two days. He tied with Martin Leon for the team lead with 36 pars.

Rutgers will travel to Bluffton, South Carolina on Monday March 5th to play in the Colleton River Collegiate hosted by Michigan State.
