Six Former Gators Competed this weekend in the Mexico Open and the Trophy Hasssan ll

Florida had three golfers representing the Orange and Blue in Mexico; Tyson Alexander (Cut), Fred Biondi (Cut) and Alejandro Tosti (Cut).
Tosti played the best of the bunch going one under for the tournament. The first-year PGA Tour Card holder’s six birdies in round two was the 10th best among the field

The Gators also had three golfers compete in the Hassan ll Tournament: Scott Dunlap (37th), Chris DiMarco (T-41) and Brian Gay (T-5).
Gay had the best weekend of the trio finishing a season best T-5. The 30-year pro’s best round came on day three when he shot a bogey free back nine which included an eagle on hole 12.
What’s Next
Florida will be well represented in this week’s PGA Tour event. Billy Horschel (7:18 a.m.), Camilo Villegas (7:29 a.m.), Tyson Alexander (11:56 a.m.), Fred Biondi (1:24 p.m.) and Alejandro Tosti (1:46 p.m.) will be teeing off in the Cognizant Classic in Palm Beach Gardens Fla.
The Gators also return to action on the Korn Ferry Tour where Ricky Castillo (5:21 a.m.) and T.J. Vogel (6:45 a.m.) will compete in the 117 Visa Argentina Open.
Florida Gators Men’s Golf has a few weeks off, traveling to the Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Ga. The three-day event begins on March 15 at Forest Heights.
