CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami golfer Sara Byrne has been named to the 2023-24 Spring ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel Watch List, as announced by the Haskins Foundation Monday.
The ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel is given annually to the top female Division I collegiate golfer.
Byrne has put on a dominant performance on the golf course this season, totaling two individual victories, five top-10 finishes and earning ACC Golfer of the Month honors twice.
The Douglas, Cork, Ireland has etched her name into not only the Miami program record books, but also the NCAA women’s golf record books as her 54-hole score of 197 (-19) at the Hurricane Invitational ranks first in program history and is currently tied for third for lowest individual 54-hole score in NCAA women’s golf history.
Byrne’s season stroke average currently sits at 69.78, which would shatter the Miami program record (71.00 – Renate Grimstad) and rank fifth in the NCAA record book.
The senior has shot par-or-better in 17 of 23 rounds played this season, including 13 straight from October 14 to March 3.
Byrne and the Hurricanes return to action on March 11-12 when they participate in the Battle at Briar’s Creek in Charleston, S.C.
