Just about a week removed from its worst tournament in a long time, the Sun Devil men’s golf team won the 15-team Cabo Collegiate on Tuesday at the Twin Dolphin Golf Club in convincing fashion.
ASU won the tournament by nine strokes, and did it shooting 11-under 273 in the final round, as only two other teams were under par on Tuesday. Three Sun Devils finished in the top-10, led by Preston Summerhays who shot an 8-under 205 and finished third.
ASU kept the lead on the par-3 holes, shooting 2-over and was the only team to sit in the top three for all team statistics including: par-3 holes, par-4 holes, par-5 holes, pars, birdies, and eagles. Michael Mjaaseth tied for second in par-5 holes, shooting 7-under.
