ROSEMONT, IL – Junior Florian Huerlimann of the Maryland men’s golf team was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week the conference announced Thursday. This is his first career weekly honor.
Huerlimann placed in the top 10 of The Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate on Tuesday in Aiken, S.C., the best finish from a Terp this season. Huerlimann finished the first round with a score of 69, which tied his career low. His second and third rounds both concluded with an even score of 72.
He tied for eighth overall with a score of 213, which was +3. Huerlimann made 12 birdies in the 54-hole event. He helped Maryland to its best finish of the season.
Huerlimann and the Terps will compete in the Landfall Intercollegiate in Wilmington, N.C. March 24-25.
