East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State’s men’s golf team plays its second tournament of the spring season starting on Monday, March 11 at the second annual Johnnie-O at Sea Island.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be played on the par 70, 7,005-yard course at the Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Ga.
The 14-team tournament, which includes seven teams ranked among the top-75 in the country in the NCAA Rankings, will begin on Monday with 36 holes of continuous play.

LAST TIME OUT
Michigan State a 19-under par 845 (279-279-287) and tied for fifth place the Colleton River Collegiate in Bluffton, S.C. last weekend. Graduate students Drew Hackett led Michigan State, tying for 10th place at 8-under par 208 (67-69-72). He posted an even par 72 on Tuesday and closed out his second round at 3-under par 69. Freshman Lorenzo Pinili and senior Bradley Smithson tied for 22nd place, with each posting scores of 5-under par 211. Playing as an individual, senior August Meekhof tied for 22nd place at 5-under par 211 (69-72-70) and was fifth among all competitors with 38 birdies.
Overall this year, McCulloch leads the team with a 71.47 scoring average, finishing among the top-10 once and among the top-20 three times. Hackett, who also has a top-10 showing and three among the top-20, is second on the team with a 71.67 average.
