The Washington women’s golf team will spend the first portion of UW’s Spring Break in style as the Huskies will travel to Lihu?e, Kaua?i, Hawai’i, for the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational Sun.-Tue., March 17-19.
The annual tournament will take place on an island other than O’ahu for the first time in its 38-year history as the three-day, 54-hold event will be contest at the Ocean Course at Hokuala on Kaua’i. The par-72 course will play at 5,929 yards.
Each day, all players will tee off in a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. HT (noon PT). On the first day, the five Huskies in the starting lineup will tee off of holes 1-4, playing alongside golfers from the University of Hawai’i (the host school), Arizona State and Mercer. The tournament field includes 15 teams, along with a number of individuals
Here is the Husky lineup for the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational:
1. Camille Boyd
2. Stefanie Deng
3. Jamie Hsieh
4. Carmen Lim
5. Mads Smith
Additionally: Kennedy Knox, Jenny Chang and Adithi Anand will compete as individuals. They’ll begin round one on holes 17-18.
In their most recent event of the 2024 season, Boyd led the Huskies to a second-place team finish at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational, sharing medalist honors with an 8-under 136. That tournament was shortened to 36 holes due to heavy rain during round three.
Following the Huskies’ trip to Kaua’i, the team will next play at the SIlverado Showdown April 8-10 in Napa, Calif.
