As a team, the Lady Vols are tied for sixth place with a score of 3-over (291), with round two to take place on Saturday and the third and final round occurring on Sunday.
After a slow start to the round, Holden caught fire to the tune of six birdies in eight holes, catapulting her to the top five where she would remain for the rest of the day. The four-year Lady Vol is looking for her third consecutive top-10 individual finish.
Competing as an individual, freshman Martina Lopez-Lanchares never dipped above par, shooting even-par (72) to finish day one tied for 15th place.
Sophomore Manassanan Chotikabhukkana used three birdies on the front nine to shoot 1-over (73). Angela Arora sits one stroke behind her in 29th place, and junior Bialye Davis is tied for 52nd with a score of 4-over (75).
