The first two days of the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook’s Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, Florida, are in the books and there are several big-name PGA Tour stars headed home a few days early.
However, on the other side of the leaderboard, there are five players tied for the lead at 6 under: Kevin Streelman, Chandler Phillips, Stewart Cink, Brendon Todd and Mackenzie Hughes. There are nine players, including Justin Thomas, tied for sixth at 5 under, one back.
The biggest name to miss the cut is Jordan Spieth, who missed the weekend last week as well at the Players Championship.
Although the second round was suspended due to darkness and the cut won’t be made official until Saturday morning, Data Golf says there’s a 100 percent chance the cutline will fall at even par.
Here are 10 stars who are leaving the Valspar Championship on Friday afternoon.
Round 1: 2-under 69
Round 2: 3-over 74
Since tying for 30th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational earlier this month, Spieth has now missed the cut two weeks in a row at the Players and Valspar.
Round 1: Even-par 71
Round 2: 1-over 72
This is Burns’ first missed cut of the year.
Round 1: 1-over 72
Round 2: Even-par 71
Like Spieth, Bradley has now missed the cut at the Players and Valspar in back-to-back weeks.
Round 1: 1-under 70
Round 2: 3-over 74
A disappointing result for the reigning Champion Golfer of the Year, especially after his tie for second at the Players last week.
