PHOENIX – No. 6 USC women’s golf finishes out the PING/ASU Invitational in a tie for 12th place after posting an 11-over-par round on the tournament’s final day at the Papago Golf Course.
The Women of Troy had a tough day, as they went 11-over-par as a squad (the third-highest total in round three). USC ended up in a tie for 12th place with fellow conference member Colorado, at 13-over-par for the tournament. Northwestern won the invitational at 11-under-par.
Sophomore Catherine Park was the top scorer for the Women of Troy. She finished in a tie for 21st and posted an Even 72 on the final day. Freshman Bailey Shoemaker and senior Christine Wang both ended up in a tie for 49th place at six-over-par. Both players struggled as Shoemaker posted an 80 (+8) and Wang shot a 79 (+7).
Senior Brianna Navarrosa was the last counting score for USC as she finished the tournament eight over par after shooting a 75 on the final day. Junior Xin (Cindy) Kou rounded out the Trojans as she was 11-over-par and tied for 74th place. She had her best round of the tournament with a 73 today.
The Women of Troy hit the links again at the Silverado Showdown starting Monday, Mar. 8, in Napa, Calif.
