No. 25 Cal Competes For Final Time Prior To Pac-12 Championships
BERKELEY – The No. 25 California women’s golf team is off to Napa where it will play 54 holes Monday through Wednesday at the Silverado Showdown, hosted by Colorado at the Silverado Resort. The three-day tournament is the Golden Bears’ final competition before shifting focus to the Pac-12 Championships.
The stacked 16-team field features eight top-25 squads and 13 total teams ranked among the nation’s top 50.
Cal’s five lowest-scoring golfers are in the Silverado lineup, led by Adora Liu (72.00), who has four top-10 finishes and has shot 2-over-par across seven events played.
Cal most recently placed second at the PING/ASU Invitational in Phoenix on March 28-30, marking its fourth top-three finish in the 2023-24 season. The Golden Bears jumped five spots into the runner-up position with a 7-under 281 in the third round and saw Liu (-4, 8th), Constance Fouillet (-3, T-9th), Cristina Ochoa (-1, T-18th) and Rina Tatematsu (E, T-21st) – all of which will play in Napa – earn top-25 individual finishes.
Cal placed 10th in the 2023 edition of the Silverado Showdown. Ochoa and Olivia Lee – Cal’s No. 2 and 4 golfers this week – tied for 43rd and 70th, respectively, last year.
