Following his second-straight individual title on Tuesday, senior Jack Lundin of the University of Missouri men’s golf program was named SEC Golfer of the Week for the fifth time this season.
At the Tiger Intercollegiate this week, Lundin carded a 13-under 200 over three rounds (64-70-66), including 22 birdies to win the tournament by two strokes. The 200 tally marks his career-low three-round total – and eighth-lowest score in school history – while his opening-round score of 64 is the lowest 18-hole total of his career – placing ninth in the school’s record book.
Lundin’s individual medalist honors follow his titles at the Hootie at Bulls Bay in his previous tournament. The senior is the first Tiger to win back-to-back championships since Jace Long accomplished the feat during the 2010-11 campaign.
Entering last week as the No. 21 golfer in the college ranks, Lundin collected the weekly accolade for the fifth time this season – also doing so on Sept. 21, Feb. 7, March 14 and March 27. He extended his streak of top-five finishes to five straight and 7-of-10 tournaments overall this season as he owns a 69.27 stroke average in 30 rounds.
Lundin and the Tigers return to action on Wednesday, April 24, in St. Simmons, Georgia, opening play at the SEC Championship.
