COLUMBUS, Ohio – Illinois women’s golf finished the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational in eighth after carding a 54-hole total of 906 (+42). The Illini posted a final round 299 (+11) in the final event before the Big Ten Championships.
Isabel Sy finished tied for 14th after her third round of 73 (+1). Sy’s 4.50 (-4) scoring average on par 5s was tied for the second-lowest among the field.
Anna Ritter recorded the best finish of her career, tied for 19th, after her final round of 75 (+3). Ritter picked up two birdies on the day and finished the event as one of three players to card an eagle on the weekend.
Yurang Li placed tied for 29th following her round of 74 (+2). Lexanne Halama ended tied for 47th after a round 78 (+6).
Erica Lee finished tied for 50th after a final round of 77 (+5), while Sophia Sulkar finished tied for 70th after carding a third round 85 (+13).
As a team, the Orange and Blue’s 4.97 (-2) scoring average on par 5s was fourth-lowest among the field.
Hosts Ohio State took home the team title at 7-under (857) and the Buckeye’s Caley McGinty captured individual honors at 6-under (210).
The Fighting Illini will be back in action in on Friday at the Big Ten Championships at Bulle Rock Golf Course in Havre de Grace, Md.
