Billy Horschel is currently working alongside Micah Fugitt, an experienced bagman who has caddied for a long list of players, including Grayson Murray, Bryson DeChambeau, Ben Martin and Stephen Ames.
Fugitt, from Abilene, Teaxas, was on the bag for Horschel when the American won the FedEx Cup in 2014; they worked together for seven years, but the pair only teamed up again in May 2023.
Before Fugitt, Horschel had Mark Fulcher on the bag, a caddie who had previously enjoyed a long and successful partnership with former World No.1 Justin Rose.
Horschel and Fulcher also enjoyed a healthy period together, one of the highlights coming in 2021 at Wentworth, where Horschel won the BMW PGA Championship.
Horschel was full of praise for Fugitt after the pair enjoyed victory together at the Corales Puntacana Championship.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to have a lot of good caddies on my bag and throughout time, you know, as a person, as humans, we grow, we change, we change what we need, we change what we want,“ said Horschel, after winning his eighth PGA Tour title.
“I was fortunate enough that Micah agreed to come back on the bag last May. And Micah’s been unbelievable. Micah’s been a great attitude, really energized to work every day, wants to get better. Even when we were playing really bad last year when he came on the bag, he was positive the entire time.
“So it’s been great to have him back on the bag. He’s been, like I said, I can’t say enough for the work he’s done over the last 10 months of just being there as not only caddie but as a friend, because he is a friend.”
In an interview with The Caddie Network, Fugitt rates Horschel’s FedEx Cup run in 2014, when he finished second, first, first en route to winning one of the game’s biggest prizes, as his greatest memory as a caddie.
