American golfer Lexi Thompson is the renowned female Puma ambassador, and while we might not look or play like Lexi, Puma’s women’s apparel is both modern and functional and designed to suit the everyday golfer, whatever your size or shape, hence the name of these golf pants.
Made in a lightweight stretch fabric with UPF 40 UV protection, the Everyday pants in navy have a similar look and feel to Puma’s PWRSHAPE pants, which I reviewed favourably, so I was keen to compare with these and the best women’s golf clothes for this season.
The length of these pants is 7/8th, and standing at approximately 5ft 5”, they sit a few inches above my ankles for a modern look, which I like, although depending on your leg length, they might not suit everyone.
They have a concealed side zip, and once I had breathed in slightly and zipped up, I felt the effect of the deep waistband that somehow magically pulls you in for a flattering shape, which is one of the same benefits of the PWRSHAPE pants. It’s worth pointing out that there is still enough room to tuck in a golf shirt. I like the neat stitching at the bottom of the waistband and side seams as this adds to the detail of what is essentially a pair of plain navy pants.
There are two open slant pockets, and these are plenty deep enough to hold a few accessories, although given the cut of these pants, you wouldn’t want to put too much in them, perhaps a couple of tees. There’s also a welt pocket on the back that you can pop a scorecard or phone in, and above this is a small embossed Puma logo.
I found these pants to be really comfortable thanks to the stretch and lightweight quality of the fabric. They hold their shape nicely and are easy to care for. Living up to their name, as you can happily wear them every day on and off the golf course and representing great value, these are one of the best golf pants.
