CLE ELUM, Wash. – The Washington women’s golf team opened up play at the 2024 NCAA Regionals today at Tumble Creek Golf Club, finishing round one in ninth place.
The Huskies spent time at both the top and bottom of the team leaderboard at one point or another Monday, finishing the day with a team total of 14-over 302, at the windy course on the east side of the Cascade Mountains.
Stefanie Deng and Carmen Lim turned in the Huskies’ low round, each carding a 3-over 75.
Deng’s round included three birdies, four bogies and a double, while Lim eagled the par-5 18th, and had five bogies.
Two Huskies finished their opening round one stroke back, at 4-over 76. Camille Boyd was one-under through her first nine, with two bogies and three birdies, before carding five bogies on her second nine. Vivian Lu also finished with a 4-over 76, with a birdie, a double and three bogies.
Jamie Hsieh was just one more stroke back, with an opening round 77.
The tournament, which UW is hosting, continues Tuesday with the second of three rounds. Players will begin teeing off at 9:00 a.m. Admission is free and the public is welcome.
